Through this week what I work on about the director notebook. I decide to choose the play "Noises off" a play in three acts by Michael Frayn, This play was created in 1982, Michael got ideas that after he watched his one of theatre performance "one of us", In this performance, there is a moment that he wants to create a farce for Lynn Redgrave. Then he decides to make continue version about this comedy. So the Noises off is his basic ideas that why he created this book and how does he use a different story to express a funny moment to the audiences. The reason why I want to choose this book to be my director notebook topic is Its story and character features with their body language. The meaning is characters have specific movement on the stage, and each character has a huge difference in personality. Also, they do have a lot of physical movement and behavior when they acting some moment is important. So through my imagination, I think this play has a diversified shaping, And the play stage which I think could be a traditional stage that all audiences focus on the front. Also, I think the stage could set in the middle of the audiences which will let the actors do interactive actions with all audiences. Anyway, this is the first play that I choose for my director notebook so I will keep doing more researching this book and think about the context and stage first.
